Parisian macarons (not to be confused with their less-Gentile, more-coconutty counterpart, macaroons) are the latest, prettiest dessert trend. What, you're still on cupcakes? Get with it. But they are not, I repeat not easy to make yourself. I tried my hand at both lavender-buttercream and cinnamon-Nutella variations, and let's just say it was an all-day project.
This amazing food blogger has just inspired me to give it another go with a cheeky American riff on the traditional French confection - et voila, the Big Mac-aron!
